How do I create volunteer roles?
Anyone can host an event and create volunteer roles within it. Charity administrators can also create volunteer roles for charities, events, or pages. Event leaders may also manage volunteer roles within an event.
Any volunteer roles and time slots created for an event are available for others to sign up for. The administrator of the charity or the event leader must be logged in in order to create a volunteer role.
For charity-hosted volunteer roles: While logged in as the charity administrator, navigate to your charity’s dashboard page. Then click the Set Up button on left navigation. This will take you through Charity Set Up. Click on the Coordinate Volunteers tab. Click "+ add new role" and select how you would like to manage this role (through Cherryfish or through an external site).
To manage your role via cherryfish, select the corresponding button. Then enter role details. Optionally, you can click “Add time slot” and enter the appropriate time slots for this role. You can select to have recurring times for a role such as daily or weekly, ending at a specified date.
For individual-hosted event volunteer roles: Login as the event leader. Click on your event in the Upcoming Events tab. Click the Set Up tab shown in the image below.

Managing roles via External Site: Click Set Up on the page you would like to create a role for. Go to the Coordinate Volunteers tab. Click "+ add new role." You can choose to create one or multiple roles that links to your external site. Volunteers will see each role and access your external site link to sign up.
